Description: This piece, based on a quote by Pascal (and expanded by Joanne), can be sung in up to 11 parts, though it is notated here (and recorded) in 4 parts. Allowing space between the entrances of parts after the first 4 come in can add a more open flow and beauty to this piece.Pascal’s quote translated into English ends with the word “of”. It’s rare for a songwriter to be able to end a line with “love”, so the composer enjoyed adding a line of lyrics and music to the quote, relishing that sweet rhyme!
Level of Difficulty: Easy musically, but because of the philosophy of the lyrics and the French pronunciations, most appropriate for teens and adults.
